
Melissa Crystal O'Neil was born on the 12th of July in 1988. She is a Canadian actor and singer. O'Neil was the first Canadian woman to win Canadian Idol's third season, which aired in 2005. She is known best as an actress because of her role in the series Syfy as Two / RebeccaAs Two / Portia Lin as well as on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama The Rookie. She was voted among the bottom three and two contestants were eliminated. After being shocked, judges encouraged viewers to choose Melissa O'Neil, who was clearly the most active contestant. O'Neil's performance was consistently praised and O'Neil did not fall back to the bottom 3. Zack Werner, the judge, declared O'Neil "a potential winner everything". O'Neil, along with Rex Goudie, made it into the finals on September 7 in 2005. Werner, a judge famously stated that the headlines for the following day's news will be "The King [Kalan Porter] is dead. The Queen will live forever." O'Neil defeated Goudie in the grand finale results show, September 14, 2005. O'Neil was also crowned the third Canadian Idol and the first female winner.
