
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She also is captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division of women's soccer in United States. From 2018 to 2020, she co-captained the US women's national team with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9The 9 Morgan was chosen as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there , and was a key player in the team's win of the league championship. Morgan was 22 years old at the time, and was the youngest player on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. She scored the match-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. The 2012 season ended with 28 goals and 21 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and provide 20 assists within the same calendar year and making her the sixth youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. She was then named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Championships in 2019. She was selected to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
